A: Sorry, there’s no cafeteria at Rockwood. You can order food for delivery
(we’ll have numbers of local pizza places) or head toward for fine dining at the Old Angler’s Inn,
about a 3/4 mile walk away. Starbuck’s, a grocery store and other forms of
civilization are about a 10 minute car ride away.
Of course, we’ll be providing some food, including options for vegetarians,
during the weekend. Here’s the food schedule:
- Friday night - hot dogs, vegetarian dogs, a few sides and drinks
- Saturday morning - brunch until around 11am
- Saturday into the early afternoon - limited snacks like apples,
granola bars, and juice
- Saturday around 5-5:30 - Drinks and dinner (BBQ fiesta!) will be
provided at the reception
- Saturday evening (around 10pm?) - Popcorn and other munchies to
coincide with the movie we’ll show.
How do we eat if we won’t have a car?
If the food schedule above won’t tide you over, we recommend pal-ing up
with another guest who’ll have wheels for the weekend. We can help with
that – just let us know in advance.
We’ll also have phone numbers for the local pizza shops and other
deliverers.
Q: If I'm staying in the cabins, do I need to bring
shampoo and other toileteries?
A: We'll provide bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. We'll also have a few hair
dryers floating around. If you can think of specific things that would make your stay more
comfortable, please let us know and we'll try to accommodate. As we mention in the
survival kit, the bunk beds do not come with linens, so you should bring a sleeping bag or sheets.
If you can't make do with a wadded up sweatshirt, remember to bring a pillow, too.
Q: Are you guys registered anywhere?
A: Nope. Our apartment's packed to the gills, and we couldn't think of a thing we needed.
